“I wasn’t going to ask,” she said as she scrunched her nose a bit at the bright color in the corner of the room. But it was cute that Beth had a sudden interest in what he did. She turned slightly to look at him while she kept the guitar in hand, small smile on her face.
“Can I tell you a secret?” she asked as she bit her bottom lip. She didn’t wait for an answer before she continued. “I was really mad at you one day. When I lived with you. Around that time when Mercedes and Santana were fighting for you. I had the sudden urge to break this thing. But I didn’t.” She shone it into the light, tilting it just right before she showed him what she carved in it. “I figured it was better than breaking it.”
Puck cringed a bit at the mention of the little thing he had with Mercedes. He couldn’t even remember why he did that. And he definitely remembered how amused he was during the number the girls had performed. He wanted to cut in and say that they were both being fucking ridiculous, but he was having too much fun watching the musical cat fight play out.
Squinting a bit, he looked at the little marking on his guitar. He’d never even noticed it before. If he had, he would’ve thought that it was just a scratch, it was that small. Lucky he never noticed it, otherwise he would’ve gotten it fixed. “What does that even say?” he chuckled. He could see the mark clearly, but he couldn’t make out what it said.
